KAPITAN VDOVICHENKO SUPER TRAWLER
At the age of 19, Mr Vdovichenko chose on his own to dedicate his life to the sea by enrolling inthe Odessa Higher Marine Engineering School. He served as the second, third, and chief mate. From 1970 to 1998, he spent nearly 30 years working in companies that preceded RFC. At the age of 33, he embarked on his first voyage as the director captain aboard Medik super trawler.
Throughout his career, he received numerous government certificates and awards, including the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Order of the October Revolution, and the 300 years of the Russian Navy medal. He also received departmental distinctions from the Ministry of Fisheries such as Excellence in Socialist Competition, Shockworker of the Tenth Five-Year Plan, and Fishermen's Glory badges. He led Antarctic expeditions of fishing vessels to harvest Antarctic krill on two occasions.
Mr Vdovichenko was committed to his trade and served the industry faithfully until the end. Even after retiring in 1998, he continued to impart his knowledge and experience to the younger generation. He taught marine majors at Sovetskaya Gavan Vocational School 13 until his passingin 2017.
