HAARLEM, The Netherlands, 22 March 2018 – The Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative is pleased to announce that Russian Fishery Company (RFC), Russia’s largest pollock harvester, has joined the GSSI Global Partnership as a Funding Partner.
“For GSSI to truly provide an international, multi-stakeholder platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange in seafood sustainability, it is imperative that we have global representation in our partnership. We are very pleased to have Russian Fishery join GSSI and strengthen Russia’s representation in the partnership.” said Herman Wisse, Managing Director, GSSI.
“The Russian Fishery Company is proud to become a member of Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative family”, said Andrey Teterkin, CEO of RFC. “As a global player, RFC believes that joint efforts among seafood companies can ensure that responsible and sustainable fishing be the only way of doing business in the seafood industry. GSSI recognition of transparent and credible certification schemes allows all companies to deliver high quality seafood to the consumers”.
