RFC is consistently increasing the share of advanced processed products: fillets, surimi, and minced fish. In Q1 2026, the company’s sales grew 5% due to production optimization and a focus on high value-added products. This approach ensured not only economic efficiency, but also guaranteed high-quality, availability, safety, and environmental friendliness of the products for consumers.
Consumption Development in Russian Market
The domestic market remains a strategic priority for RFC: approximately 40% of goods are sold in Russia. In Q1 2026, domestic sales rose 35%, with demand for advanced-processed products showing strong growth: surimi (+59%), fillets (+60%), and minced fish (+98%). Against the general volatility in fish prices, pollock remains affordable and familiar product for Russian consumers, while RFC focuses on developing its product range and modern consumption formats.
Developing a culture of consumption and promoting pollock, RFC continues cooperating with partners across the country. In 2026, the Russian Fishery Company and Sweet Life Group entered into a strategic agreement on joint development of production and promotion of advanced-processed pollock goods. The partnership envisages the creation of a sustainable “from catch to shelf” chain, joint development of new product solutions for retail trade and HoReCa, as well as expanding the presence of RFC's products in federal and regional distribution channels. This cooperation is aimed at making pollock products a familiar and affordable option in different price segments for Russian families.
A particular domestic demand driver is the program popularizing pollock consumption. The flagship project — the O!Mega Taste gastronomic pollock festival —will be held for the 4th time. The festival unites chefs, restaurateurs, retailers, and consumers to show how pollock fits seamlessly into modern urban cuisine, from street food to fine dining.
In the new season, students of culinary colleges are joining the project for the first time. It helps to form a culture of pollock processing among the future HoReCa professionals and consolidates pollock image as a modern, healthy, and affordable fish.
Pollock is a wild protein, especially important for children’s diets: it is healthy, energizing, and promotes healthy growth. Thanks to RFC’s efforts, this product becomes increasingly accessible for Russian families.
Asia-Pacific Region: High Standard Laboratory
RFC is focusing on the Asia-Pacific Region as key markets for developing export revenue and products with various processing levels. China remained the company’s second-largest market: sales grew 4% in the country, the main driver were shipments of headless pollock (+32%) and surimi (+9%). RFC was a reliable supplier of raw materials and semi-finished products for the Chinese partners, allowing them to develop their own processing and ready-made solutions for the local market and re-export.
In Japan and the Republic of Korea, the focus was on products with a higher customer value and strict quality requirements. Against the general decline in sales in the region, the company managed to significantly increase supplies of headed and gutted pollock (+52%) and milt (+84%). RFC's goods are used in traditional national dishes and modern catering formats, where stable organoleptic characteristics and raw material origin traceability are very important. Thus, the Asia-Pacific region remains a “laboratory” of high standards for RFC and a benchmark for product line development in other markets.
Fleet, Technology, and People: Leadership Basics
To ensure stable supplies and high product quality, RFC is implementing a large-scale program of its fleet upgrade and production system development. In the A Season 2026, the company's 9 trawlers fished, 5 of them
were state-of-art super trawlers: Vladimir Limanov, Capitan Vdovichenko, Mekhanik Maslak, Mekhanik Sizov, and Capitan Martynov. All super trawlers were among the top ten vessels by catch and output in the Far Eastern basin. The company continues implementing its fleet upgrade program: in April 2026, the RFC's flag was hoisted on the Capitan Yunak super trawler, which will soon start fishing. The flag-raising on the Mechanic Shcherbakov super trawler is scheduled for September. Two more new vessels — Capitan Ipatov and Aleksandr Buzakov — are expected to float out in 2026.
