Russian Fishery Company extends Fisherman's Day greetings to Primorye

During the key regional festivities, the leading company in the Far East's fishing industry discussed the fisherman's trade and served delicious and nutritious white fish to its guests.

The main events of Fisherman's Day in Vladivostok occurred on July 9, with the Russian FisheryCompany (RFC), the official partner of the celebration, playing a significant role in shaping its program. The company being the leader in the domestic fishing industry in terms of quota utilization and investment in building new fleet, focused its participation in the main regional Fisherman's Day on promoting the promising profession among the residents of the region and on advancing the delicious and healthy Far Eastern pollock.

While inaugurating the celebration in the capital of the Far Eastern Federal District, Governor of Primorsky Krai Oleg Kozhemyako highlighted that the fishing industry is currently showing strong growth dynamics.

"New fishing vessels are being built, also at our local shipyards, coastal fishing facilities are being built and launched, and product variety is increasing. Let us wish all fishermen fair winds and following seas and joyful reunions on shore."

Olga Naumova, CEO of RFC, who participated in the main Fisherman's Day ceremony alongsidethe Governor and Mayor of Vladivostok Konstantin Shestakov, highlighted the universal nature of this celebration and discussed the Russian Fishery Company's efforts to modernize and promote the fishing industry.

"We are actively advocating for the fisherman's trade among Primorye residents, particularly the youth. We are building new trawlers, and these state-of-the-art vessels offer numerous respectable job opportunities and open a world of possibilities for the youth, whom we invite to this promising profession vital to the region and the country. Allow me to extend my congratulations to all residents of Primorye and Vladivostok, our esteemed veterans of the fishing industry, and everyone who is currently at sea. I wish everyone good health, success, and undoubtedly, spirits riding high on this splendid day."

Head of the official partner of Fisherman's Day also extended an invitation to all attendees to take part as spectators and tasters in the culinary battle hosted by RFC and the best restaurants ofVladivostok called O!Mega Taste which started immediately after the opening ceremony of the festivities.

In this thrilling battle, three teams led by renowned chefs Aleksandr Kazakevich (Millionka restaurant), Vladimir Kozhevin (Cantina) and Egor Anisimov (Zuma) prepared 700 servings of unique dishes using fresh Far Eastern pollock caught by RFC fishermen.

Joining the chef teams were notable figures such as Governor Oleg Kozhemyako, Mayor Konstantin Shestakov, RFC CEO Olga Naumova, Head of the Primorsky Krai Agency for Fisheries Valerii Korko, Head of Visit Primorye Arsenii Krepskii, Head of Far Eastern State Technical Fisheries University Oleg Shcheka, and Chairman of the Primorye branch of the Union of Journalists of Russia Viktor Sukhanov.

While cooking pollock stir-fry with vegetables, as well as guo bao rou and tom yam using wild white fish, the Governor of Primorye personally educated the audience and participants about thebenefits of pollock, its culinary and even medicinal properties, encouraging all residents of Primorye to incorporate this wonderful and affordable fish into their diet.

A traditional photo exhibition called At Sea was held in celebration of Fisherman's Day: it featured the portraits of the employees from key Far Eastern fishing companies engaged in the challenging but noble work of fishing. This year, the Russian Fishery Company contributed significantly to the exhibition by showcasing striking photographs. These images offered a glimpse into the lives of fishermen at work, the company's new Vladimir Limanov, Kapitan Vdovichenko and Mekhanik Maslak trawlers, and ongoing building of other vessels for the new RFC fishing fleet.

RFC CEO Olga Naumova guided the Governor of Primorye through the exhibition, explaining the company's efforts in fleet modernization, onshore production expansion, staff training initiatives, employee retention strategies, and production of goods for the domestic market.
